35mm High Resolution Scanning

We have recently introduced a high resolution scanning service with the aid of our new "Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED" scanner. The decison was taken due to the demand of clients and photographers, who have numerous high quality images taken in the days of film cameras.

In undertaking this process we are able to convert those images now stored away into digital high resolution images, suitable for commercial use.

The machine is capable of scanning either 35mm negatives or transparencies, and outputting a digital file in excess of 50mb without any interpolation, at either 8 or 16 bit and in RGB or CMYK.

Prior to each scan taking place the film is blown with dry compressed air, then cleaned with the aid of a "photographic archival emulsion cleaner". This process is undertaken in an attempt to remove any dust particles and grease marks prior to scanning, giving the highest quality results possible.

All images scanned are written immediately to a CDR or DVD-R with absolutely NO post production or digital manipulation, unless otherwise previously agreed in writing.
